Below you will find answers to many frequently asked questions about the art that I offer, my general business practices and a glossary of terms you may not be familiar with, found across this website. If you have additional questions not answered here, please reach out to me via my contact page and I will return your inquiry as soon as possible.
How Do I Place An Order?
Orders can be placed by contacting me directly at this time.
Which is best? Metal, Acrylic or Paper Prints?
The answer to this question depends on a number of factors including where the artwork will be displayed, the available lighting of the space and which of the three is most aligned with the style of your home or business.
What is the best size?
When displaying artwork you should look to fill approximately 75% of the available space so that it fills the area without appearing too small or overwhelming it by looking awkward. Artwork displaced above a fireplace for example will typically be 45" to 60" wide. Above a bed or sofa could be 72" or larger depending on the furniture below it. I can provide you with visual mock ups of your space as well to help you choose the correct artwork and appropriate size.
Do you offer custom sizes?
Yes, my work can be produced in a variety of custom sizes and formats. There will be certain pieces that may need to be creatively cropped in order to meet a desired dimension. This can be achieved through the digital mockup referenced in the previous question.
How much does the art cost?
The cost for each piece is determined by the size, and type (paper, metal or acrylic) The prices include all printing, tax and shipping costs to your door. If you are considering a purchase of specific work, I will provide you the prices.
Do you offer custom framing?
Custom framing is available for the majority of my work. I would be happy to recommend various options or can source exactly what you are looking for and have the piece produced with the desired moulding.
How long will it take to get my order?
The average time for custom printing above 36" is three to four weeks, with an additional week to deliver the work to your home or office.
How do you ship the artwork?
I utilize a number of shipping options including Fed Ex, UPS and other smaller freight carriers for larger pieces or when the location is more challenging to reach. Each print is professionally packaged and fully insured to ensure safe delivery. Inspect your order within 24 hours of receipt. If damage occurs, email photos of the packaging and print, and a replacement will be sent promptly. My work is available worldwide, with additional shipping costs for international orders. Collectors are responsible for any duties, customs, taxes or fees charged by the destination country.
What is the best way to display the art?
You decide how best to do so in your space but there are some best practices which you can observe for yourself in museums, galleries and homes. Prominently featured on a clean wall with good lighting and most often with the center at eye level when standing works well as a guide.
What is a limited edition?
Limited edition means only a certain number of this item will ever be printed. This helps keep the values high as there is not an unlimited supply. Dive deeper into why limited editions matter in photography.
How is your work produced?
I conceive an image, I travel and go out to various locations in specific lighting and weather conditions to compose and photograph it. I then work on the photograph to bring out the colors and tones and once I am happy with it, I name it and place on my site. Once sold, I then take the file to the printer and work with the printer to develop maximum quality during the printing process. If that doesn't answer your question, you can learn much more about my creative vision and process here.
Do you accept returns?
All work is custom printed at the point of purchase. If there is a problem with your order, I would love the opportunity to make it right, but do not accept general returns due to the high costs of production.
Which camera and other equipment do you use when producing your work?
I use many tools to produce these artistic images including cameras and lenses from Nikon, Sony, Canon, Hasselblad, Maymia, and yes, even an iPhone.
Do you offer custom, commissioned work?
Absolutely, I would love to discuss your needs and project with you!
